You know you've lived life to the fullest when friends and family surprise you with an m&m-themed party on your 50th birthday. Why m&m, you ask? Well... let's just say that this fun-loving fella named Harold loves Red, the lovable, self-proclaimed leader of the m&m characters. Who wouldn't? Red, according to the company website, has marvelous eyebrows, a genius IQ and physical prowess. He has an uncanny ability to turn simple chores into complicated tasks and his only shortcoming is that he thinks he knows more than he really does. The best part is that he loves it when people blindly follow his advice. Come to think of it, Harold and Red – as I've slowly discovered throughout the night and mostly after the roast –have such eerie similarities that I wouldn't be surprised if they were separated at birth!
Kidding aside, we thoroughly enjoyed being at this event and hearing about Harold's adventures (or misadventures) from his life-long friends (like seriously long... as in since he was 10 or 11!). Huge thanks to Harold, Seranda, Sadie and the fabulous Wingate by Wyndham Hotel Manager, Greg for allowing us to be a part of this day.
